I’ve got lots of news to tell you about. Sorry I haven’t written in a while but my daughter is now nearly 6 and is taking over the computer… yikes!
1st of all you should know that the Lansing Parrothead Club is having their annual PHun PHest this Friday, June 20th at Guerazzi’s in North Lansing on Old US 27 just south of I-69. Don Middlebrook and Carribean Blue will be performing. I won’t be able to make it this year but I urge you to make the effort and go, you will have the time of your life. They do a fantastic job of having fun for charity or as the Parrothead slogan says “Party with a purpose!” Here’s a link to more info: http://www.mmphc.com/events/phunphest2008/2008Flyer.pdf
On June 28th Cheeky Monkeys Coffeehouse is holding a “Black Tie and Latte” Charity event (black tie optional) with silent auction and live music for the Relay-for-Life, American Cancer Society. Tickets are available at Cheeky Monkeys Coffeehouse in Portland. www.cheekymonkeyscoffeehouse.com
I’ll be playing at the Lansing Lugnut’s Stadium on July 25th for their “Buffett Night” celebration from 5pm to 7pm.
On August 8th I’ll be in Caseville, MI for the 10th annual Cheeseburger in Caseville festival. It is always good fun on the beautiful beaches of the Saginaw Bay along the Thumb and lots of good music to be heard. (camping too) Caseville, originally known as Port Elizabeth, is located at the mouth of the Pigeon River on Saginaw Bay. It is the home of Saginaw Bay's most beautiful sunsets, miles of sandy beaches and unlimited recreational opportunities in its abundant woods and waters. MORE INFO HERE
Everyone is asking me why the “Cheeseburger in Paradise” in Lansing closed down (March 08). After the novelty wore off - business dropped off. There are a lot of theories but I think that type of restaurant & bar would have fared better on the East side of Lansing near the campus. There’s a lot of competition on the West side where you can get a good burger and beer for half the price. And now more bad news in that the Cadillac Club in Lansing is closing its doors to all but private functions (June 08). That club was truly one-of-a-kind and it’s a shame they didn’t find the support they needed. RIP you will be missed.
My CD “Chasing the Sky” is selling very well. So far - so good. I’m playing a bunch of private parties this summer which is great! It's been 3 years now since we moved back home to Michigan from Florida - I never dreamed that I'd be so busy! Once again, thanks for your continued support and check my website for a calendar of scheduled events.
Cheers!
