THE INSIDE
TRACK : November, 2007 Peter
Trappen, lead singer & guitarist for South Florida's popular, vintage
garage rock band The
White Owls, has released a solo CD entitled 'Chasing the Sky'. Six original
songs and four cover renditions of songs by Van Morrison, Jack Johnson,
Jimmy Buffett and Bob Dylan.
THIS CD IS SELF-PRODUCED in his home-studio with the help of various side musicians on several tracks. Using a Roland XP-50 workstation and a Roland MC50 Loop Station for rhythm tracks, each song was meticulously pieced together and layered with overdubbed acoustic and electric guitars, saxophone, flutes, harmonicas, percussive accents and a variety of harmony and lead vocals. Interfaced with an HP Pavillion PC via a Lexicon Omega USB interface and mixed with Cubase SE. Rush & Julie Clement sing harmonies on 'You Ain't Going Nowhere'. Patrick Dawdy plays acoustic 12-string rhythm guitar on 'Mother Natures Wine' and 'Going My Way' and sings harmony on 'Going My Way'. Doug Gluckin plays Saxophone on 'Talk To Me Lady' and Flute on 'Mother Natures Wine' and 'Going My Way'. Jerry Krause plays keyboards on 'Chasing the Sky' and bass guitar on 'Talk To Me Lady'. Pat Malloy plays lead guitar on 'Going My Way'. Mike Willemin plays drums on 'Chasing the Sky' and percussion on 'Talk To Me Lady'. Raised in
a sleepy Mid-Michigan town during the '60s, Peter inherited the repertoire
of a generation and has played professionally for over 25 years. With
his first guitar at the age of 8, Peter has a guitar style similar to
Mark Knopfler & Eric Clapton. Able to sing three octaves, his distinctive
voice has been compared to singers Bob Seger and Jim Morrison.
